Caviteβs βTakbo Kalikasan Ternate 2025β Fun Run for the environment kicks- off on March 02, 2025
Municipality of Ternate has partnered with Akbay Kalikasan Environmental Society Management Inc. (AKESMI), a registered environmental volunteer organization based in the province of Cavite and Cavite Varsitarian, a fraternal youth organization in holding the municipalityβs initial fun run activity entitled βTakbo Kalikasan 2025 Ternateβ, a collaborative project in support of the initiatives centered towards environmental advocacy to be held this coming March 02, 2025.
The first-of-its-kind environmental and eco-tourism running event offers three race distances from 3km, 5km, and 10 km starting at municipal ground all the way to Puerto Azul.
βThe Municipality is endorsing this noble undertaking to support the establishment of a sustainable community based environmental projects that will boost the municipalityβs eco-tourism initiatives and at the same time promoting health and wellnessβ, Mayor Lambert Bambao of Ternate, Cavite said.
Excitement is building among participants that aims to encourage people from all walks of life to run, walk and engage in this activity that highlight the importance of community and environmental stewardship in support to Cavite Province environmental programs which is being implemented in all cities and municipalities in the province.
According to Prof. Jules Castillo, AKESMI President and Caviteβs foremost environmental advocate said that this initial fun run activity not only promotes health and wellness but more importantly to stimulate the communities involvement in environmental projects being initiated with the support of Local Government Units.
He added, βAs our society continuously progresses through modernization, our world is facing a multitude of environmental challenges that include climate change, soil and forest degradation and pollution, among other issues. It is incumbent upon us to take steps toward protecting and preserving our environment for generations to come.β
